Soundwave Research Laboratories, Inc., is a developer and manufacturer of innovative nanomaterials, acoustic devices, transducers, sensors and precision microphones used in a variety of health, agricultural, entertainment, industrial, energy and scientific fields.
Innovators in Medical Sensors
Acoustic Nanofilm is a new, catheter-based sensing technology designed to be used to detect and report on pressure, flow and vibration. Acoustic Nanofilm is being applied to new products by a team of engineers and innovators who were responsible for the successful creation of the first practical, human-rated IVUS systems used today to study coronary blockages. The non-medical form of Acoustic Nanofilm is trademarked “Roswellite” and used in highly durable recording microphones. New developments in Acoustic Nanofilm are ready for applications such as capnography are aiding the placement of devices to reduce respiratory stress, and for other sensing applications in the healthcare fields.
Bee Science Farm
We are developing next-generation sensors to help monitor and manage the populations and health of critically endangered pollinator species crucial to future sustainable agriculture. Soundwave Research Laboratories, Inc., owns and operates a working for-profit farm in Hadley, Massachusetts, that produces horticultural products and supports honey bee hives, prepared wildflower habitats and experimental pollinator forecasts. An important activity at Bee Science Farm involves monitoring man-made environmental conditions suspected of reducing the profitability of agricultural production.
Broad-based Technology Laboratory
Soundwave Research operates a wider product development engineering and scientific investigations laboratory that is used for materials research, medical device design, transducer design and development, data collection and analysis, and competitive product testing. The lab also supports manufacturing process development activities, designs and tests production tooling and fixturing, and conducts process qualifications.
Energy, Nanotechnology, and Commercialization
Our group has developed successful products that have generated substantial revenue, built brands and new technology opportuntities in sensors, sound recording devices, medical imaging systems, solar thermal nanomaterials, carbon nanotube structures, and more.
